Art description: A ubiquitous marker of big-box retail, these adhesive labels translated pricing into a visual language of urgency and discount. Applied by hand or pricing gun, they layered products with temporary value, often obscuring original packaging beneath bold numerals. Their colors and typographic simplicity signaled affordability and immediacy, reinforcing a culture of mass consumption driven by visibility and perceived savings. Removal often left behind residue or fragments, a physical trace of transactional intervention. As centralized barcode systems replaced them, these stickers stand as artifacts of a more manual, visibly adjusted marketplace.
Print runs for this exhibit are limited to 5 each, hand-signed, numbered, and stamp-authenticated by the artist. Works are printed on 13”x19” or 19”x13” 100% cotton rag with deckled and torn edges, using a 6-color, high resolution inkjet process. Print is mailed in a protective mailing tube, and comes with an identification tag as presented during the exhibit. Shipping and sales tax included in print price.
