Art description: A durable link between traveler and luggage, these tags combined cardstock and elastic string to tether identity to ownership. Issued at check-in and verified upon arrival, they structured the uncertain interval during which personal belongings moved through unseen systems. The matching claim stub provided reassurance, a small guarantee against loss within a complex logistical network. Their presence on a handle signaled successful transit, marking the conclusion of a journey’s most opaque phase. As such, they embodied the anxiety and resolution inherent in modern airline travel.
Print runs for this exhibit are limited to 5 each, hand-signed, numbered, and stamp-authenticated by the artist. Works are printed on 13”x19” or 19”x13” 100% cotton rag with deckled and torn edges, using a 6-color, high resolution inkjet process. Print is mailed in a protective mailing tube, and comes with an identification tag as presented during the exhibit. Shipping and sales tax included in print price.
