Art description: The visual symbol of educational anxiety, defined by strict grids and the enforced precision of a No. 2 pencil, this was a first encounter with machine-readable data, where human intention had to be translated into perfectly graphite-filled bubbles. Stray marks or incomplete forms risked misinterpretation, making the act of test-taking as much about discipline as knowledge. These forms reduced complexity into binary outcomes, teaching a generation to conform their expression to the rigid expectations of early digital systems, an interface where identity, performance, and fate were flattened into standardized marks.
