(unframed print, 13 in. wide x 19 in. high)
$100 from each sale will be donated to WYSO 91.3, the Yellow Springs NPR affiliate, in support of the important community and reporting work the station produces every day.
Art description: A small but potent marker of distance traversed, the air mail stamp signaled urgency and global reach. Its distinctive simplicity and designation elevated a letter from routine correspondence to something accelerated, entrusted to the infrastructure of flight. It belonged to a time when communication unfolded over days, not seconds, shaped by geography and logistics rather than instant transmission. The stamp functioned as both payment and promise, compressing vast distances into a single adhered object. In doing so, it made visible the invisible journey of a message moving through air, time, and human hands.
Print runs for this exhibit are limited to 5 each, hand-signed, numbered, and stamp-authenticated by the artist. Works are printed on 13”x19” or 19”x13” 100% cotton rag with deckled and torn edges, using a 6-color, high resolution inkjet process. Print is mailed in a protective mailing tube, and comes with an identification tag as presented during the exhibit. Shipping and sales tax included in print price. Image shown at left is from original digital file, not from actual print.
