Art description: Among the most ephemeral artifacts of public transit, these slips were printed on thin, cheap newsprint and marked by distinctive hole punches indicating time and route. They functioned as temporary passports through town and country, enabling movement across zones within narrow windows of validity. Their fragility mirrored their purpose, designed to expire quickly, both materially and functionally. The act of receiving and presenting a transfer embedded bus riders within a shared civic system, connecting suburban edges to urban centers through a network of fleeting permissions and paper-based trust.
