Film Developing Envelope Illustration

$400.00

(unframed print, 13 in. wide x 19 in. high)

$100 from each sale will be donated to WYSO 91.3, the Yellow Springs NPR affiliate, in support of the important community and reporting work the station produces every day.

Art description: A cocoon for a canister of latent images, this envelope mediated the gap between capture and revelation. Dropped off at labs or kiosks, it held exposed film alongside handwritten order details and processing instructions. The waiting period it imposed was central to its meaning, stretching anticipation across days. When returned, it delivered prints and negatives together, completing a cycle of uncertainty and discovery. The envelope functioned as both receipt and threshold, marking photography as a delayed, material process where outcomes remained unknown until physically revealed.

Print runs for this exhibit are limited to 5 each, hand-signed, numbered, and stamp-authenticated by the artist. Works are printed on 13”x19” or 19”x13” 100% cotton rag with deckled and torn edges, using a 6-color, high resolution inkjet process. Print is mailed in a protective mailing tube, and comes with an identification tag as presented during the exhibit. Shipping and sales tax included in print price. Image shown at left is from original digital file, not from actual print.
