Art description: Generated by the mechanical “cha-chunk” of a manual imprinter, these receipts captured transactions through pressure and waxed ink rather than digital verification. The embossed transfer of card details onto carbon copies created a physical record of exchange, both imperfect and immediate. Smudges, misalignments, and duplicates gave each receipt a unique material presence. They served as proof of purchase in a system that relied on imprint rather than authorization networks, anchoring credit in tactile evidence. The sound and force of the process reinforced the moment of transaction as something felt as much as recorded.
Print runs for this exhibit are limited to 5 each, hand-signed, numbered, and stamp-authenticated by the artist. Works are printed on 13”x19” or 19”x13” 100% cotton rag with deckled and torn edges, using a 6-color, high resolution inkjet process. Print is mailed in a protective mailing tube, and comes with an identification tag as presented during the exhibit. Shipping and sales tax included in print price.
