Art description: A physical embodiment of early computation, these cards translated human logic into perforated patterns readable by machines. Each hole encoded instruction, turning abstract reasoning into something tactile, sortable, and stackable. Entire programs existed as decks, vulnerable to disorder, one misplaced card or bent corner could end in disaster, literally. Their materiality made computation visible and fragile, grounding digital processes in physical form. They stand as an inflection point where thought became mechanized, and information first took on weight, edges, and the possibility of accidental erasure.
