Art description: A structured field of financial record-keeping, the ledger page organized transactions into ruled columns of debits, credits, and balances. Entries were inscribed by hand, requiring precision, consistency, and sustained attention. The layout imposed order on economic activity, translating complex exchanges into legible, repeatable formats. Errors demanded careful correction, preserving the visual integrity of the page. Over time, these sheets accumulated into bound volumes that documented the financial life of an individual or institution. They reflect an era when accounting was both a cognitive and physical discipline, grounded in pencil or ink, paper, and methodical repetition.
Print runs for this exhibit are limited to 5 each, hand-signed, numbered, and stamp-authenticated by the artist. Works are printed on 13”x19” or 19”x13” 100% cotton rag with deckled and torn edges, using a 6-color, high resolution inkjet process. Print is mailed in a protective mailing tube, and comes with an identification tag as presented during the exhibit. Shipping and sales tax included in print price.
